Course DescriptionEnrollment in this course provides an opportunity to gain experience and practice in applying skills in an appropriate business setting, while under the supervision of a qualified professional. Students work in an internship position with a participating sponsor and complete reflective journal entries on a daily basis (to be submitted every two weeks), keep accurate time records and evaluate the experience at the conclusion of the internship. Internship positions are subject to placement opportunities. While it is possible for students to complete an internship with their present employer, internship duties must be substantially different from the student’s paid duties.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply core legal concepts and techniques
- Reflect on how the internship opportunities are supporting knowledge and skill development
- Transition from college to full-time professional employment
- Practice listening, speaking, writing, and other professional communication skills
